26 JUNE: VERGNACCO – RANDOM QUARTET

randomquartet

At the Sculpture Park of Vergnacco (Reana del Rojale), on Wednesday 26 June at 9.15 pm, the Piedmontese Random Quartet will perform, a formation composed by Giovanni Bertoglio (first violin and coordination), Lucia Pulzone (second violin), Tancredi Celestre (viola), and Chiara Manueddu (cello).

The Random Quartet was born in 2006 within the G. Verdi Conservatory of Turin; once the final exam has been passed, arises the need to continue a musical path even outside the academic environment. Step by step, the idea of a string quartet released from traditional canons takes shape, where genres and even very different musical tastes can coexist.

Starting from these premises, a 360-degree musical experience is developed, even if based on the solid foundations of the classical tradition. In 2007, experiments began with arrangements of soundtracks, pop songs and folk songs, all the way to rock and metal music, testifying the great versatility of this formation.

VERGNACCO (REANA DEL ROJALE)

The municipality of Reana overlooks the Carnic and Julian Prealps, is bordered by the Torre river to the east, and consists of eight inhabited areas: Reana, Qualso, Zompitta, Cortale, Vergnacco, Valle, Remugnano (municipal seat), Ribis, Rizzolo. A settlement with the name of Verniacum, corresponding to the current hamlet of Vergnacco, which could derive from the proper name Vernus or Vernius, is already mentioned in the 13th century. The church, dedicated to Saints Thomas and Mark, is attested as existing in a document dated 1360. Very interesting is the sculpture park where every year an important international sculpture symposium takes place, which is now in its twenty-second edition.
