The musical project Acamar (name of a star from the southern hemisphere that means the end of the river, from the Arabic Akhir-al-nahr) was born in 2013, soon following the traces of Mediterranean music.
The style of the group is mainly characterized by the use of voice in the different styles of the languages sung, and for the constant presence of stringed instruments (violin, cello, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, Greek bouzouki, acoustic bass, etc.), which are flanked by cajón, Arabic percussion (darbouka, deff, bendhir), and several folk flutes of different ethnic origins.
Line-up:
Gabriella De Cesco – vocals, percussions; Giacomo Traina – acoustic guitar, bouzouki, vocals; Claudio Mucin – violin, viola; Claudio Mazzer – classical guitar, bouzouki, percussions, flutes.
