The term Carantan indicated the five cents of the old lire in use at the beginning of the twentieth century, and since then in the Friulian popular culture this name has always been the synonym of something recently, tu valis mancul of a carantan. For almost twenty years, the Carantans have been researching and reproducing the Friulian musical heritage from the 16th century to the most recent times, also encroaching on the traditional repertoire of Northern Italy and Istria. An evolution of folk that is not easy to wander in multi-ethnicity or easy contamination, but a harmonious research of space and suggestions, also witnessed by the new record, which will be presented at Folkest.
