Alessandro Gaudio & Salvatore Pace are two young accordionists coming from Southern Italy, a land full of traditional dancing and music which has influenced this new project. Passione Meridionale comprises original songs written and composed by the duo, under the supervision of Riccardo Tesi, that are inspired by the folk traditions of Basilicata, Campania and Calabria regions, then blended with the Argentinian tango and odd rhythms. All the tracks are the result of a deep research on traditional music and interesting contamination of genres, all combined with a unique dialogue between the two voices that create interesting harmonies, along with rhythmic and melodic counterpoints.
