A multifaceted program dedicated to such twentieth-century greats as Duke Ellington, Cole Porter and George Gershwin: a tribute to great American music made magical by the trumpet of Brecker, one of the most important jazz musicians of the last fifty years. Sharing the stage with him will be the Naonis Music Academy Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Valter Sivilotti, Glauco Venier on piano. The arrangements are by Maestro Sivilotti himself, co-signed by four hands with Michele Corcella, a composer and conductor who has become famous for writing and arranging for the most famous artists from the world of songwriting including Silvio Rodriguez, Sergio Endrigo, Edoardo De Angelis, Tosca, Bruno Lauzi, Omara Portuondo, Ron, and Elisa. A multiple Grammy Award winner, Brecker has performed on the world’s most important stages and boasts collaborations with such high-profile artists as Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Aretha Franklin, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, Lou Reed, Frank Zappa, Ringo Starr and Liza Minnelli. A composer as well as a trumpeter and flugelhorn player, he has become renowned for his versatility and rich sound that is unafraid to traverse styles and music even far apart.
