The Alberto Cesa Award, which is open to new proposals from world music, will take place in Spilimbergo as usual, in its eighteenth edition.

There will be the fourth edition of the Folk Clinics, featuring alternate meetings with authors, books presentations, training and technical workshops on the typical instruments of folk music.

A lot of big names besides Judy Collins (2nd July, Spilimbergo, Piazza Duomo), from Jethro Tull (13th July, Udine, Castello) to Alan Stivell (16th July, Udine, Castello), from Mellow Mood (5th July, Spilimbergo, Piazza Duomo), Massimo Priviero, Roy Paci, Il muro del canto and Fanfara Station.

Folkest, under the artistic direction of Andrea Del Favero, is produced by Folkgiornale and thanks to the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Fondazione Friuli, PromoTurismoFVG, the Municipalities of Spilimbergo and Udine, Friulovest Banca and the local entities of the 28 involved towns.

This year the festival will be held at its traditional time of the year, that is the beginning of summer, – announces Andrea Del Favero, the Artistic Director- which symbolizes a new summer for the culture of Friuli Venezia Giulia, as we all hope. A special thanks goes to all the people who have continued to believe in our work and have supported us in the last two editions of the festival.
We will start again with some great artists who have made history in world and rock music, and we will provide more space for young artists at the same time. This is also possible thanks to Upbeat, a new project including the best fifteen showcase festivals of Central Europe and Baltic Countries, which has just won a European tender and is going to commit us in the following three years
