Folkest – international folk music festival | from 5 to 23 August 2021

Announced the dates of the forty-third edition of Folkest, from 5 to 23 August 2021 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Istria.
A program that, although still being defined, promises to be full of events.
The six finalists of the Alberto Cesa Award 2021 have been selected and will perform in Spilimbergo during the final evenings of the festival.

The official poster of this edition was also presented, created in collaboration with Ayala Ibragimova, a young artist of Kazakh origin.
The illustration was created using a mixed technique of watercolour and digital drawing.

Alberto Cesa Award 2021

The selections for this year’s online Alberto Cesa Award, the competition dedicated to talented world music groups, have just ended.

Six groups have passed the selections this year, and will participate in the final phase at Folkest 2021, decided by the jury composed by John Vignola (Radio Rai Uno), Maurizio Bettelli (musician), Claudia Brugnetta (director Rai FVG), Lucia Campana, responsible for the selection of Loano (SV), the musician and responsible for the selection of Coreno Ausonio (FR) Alessandro D’Alessandro, Remo Degiovanni, musician and responsible for the selection of Cervasca (CN), Elena Ledda (musician and artistic director of the Andrea Parodi prize), Felice Liperi (journalist la Repubblica), Elisabetta Malantrucco (journalist Radio Rai 1), Alessandro Nobis of FolkBulletin, Duccio Pasqua (journalist Radio Rai 1), Jacopo Tomatis (journalist “Giornale della Musica” and artistic director of the Loano prize) and Silvio Trotta (musician and responsible for the selection of Arezzo).
