The toponym Caneva is usually derived from the Latin term canaba or canipa, meaning cellar or military warehouse; others link it to the hemp plant, but this second hypothesis seems based only on the accidental similarity of the terms. Villa Frova, where the concert is held, is centrally located in the Stevenà di Caneva hamlet, and stylistically resembles Venetian villas. It was the residence for several decades of the family of the same name, originally from Lombardy, engaged in sericulture. The building still houses four drying rooms that hosted silkworms, which, along with those in Racconigi, represent the only existing examples of such a model in Italy. The Villa is surrounded by a large garden and a park rich in vegetation.
