But this was not a passing edition or somewhat minor, it was instead a Folkest that traveled many roads, it was divided into large sectors to satisfy a bit all tastes and all palates, with a strong presence of Hispanic music and Hispanic-American, and then Balkan, Irish, Scottish, Italian, Breton, Istrian, Friulian. Not to mention an important anniversary of Folkest, which landed in <strong>Koper<\/strong> for the tenth time, with a rich program of concerts, exhibitions and study meetings.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:21% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.folkest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2002_WP-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27179 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.folkest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2002_WP-2.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/www.folkest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/2002_WP-2-210x300.jpeg 210w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also in this edition Folkest retraces roads that smack of antiquity, reaches perched castles, visits villas on the banks of rivers, visits the mountains, the hills, the plains, all the way to the Adriatic Sea: the combination of <strong>locations with high tourist potential <\/strong>and <strong>culturally high-level shows<\/strong> made it possible to promote tourism and culture at the same time, offering unusual itineraries and forgotten traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The great stars of music, new European musical proposals, the music of Friuli, the music of Istria, the music of ethnic minorities, the music and culture of the Slovenian valleys of Friuli, the great concerts: <strong>music without boundaries or definitions<\/strong>, when the great names of world music mingle with genuine exponents of traditional music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About <strong>300 artists<\/strong> perform <strong>50 shows<\/strong> each year, spread over <strong>30 different locations<\/strong> along <strong>3 weeks<\/strong> of summer filled with performances, lutherie exhibitions, musical instruments, photography, and vinyl.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Folkest 2002 hosted some of the world&#8217;s music stars, such as <strong>Noa<\/strong>, <strong>Goran Bregovic<\/strong> with its overwhelming Balkan rhythms, the <strong>Wedding and Funeral Band<\/strong>&#8216;s brass and female vocalists, the Cubans <strong>Los Van Van<\/strong>, and the now-launched <strong>Vinicio Capossela<\/strong> with <strong>Roy Paci<\/strong>. <strong>EYFO: European Youth Folk Orchestra<\/strong>, <strong>Kepa Junkera<\/strong>, <strong>Wolfstone<\/strong>, <strong>Sara Tavares<\/strong> and<strong> Los de Abajo<\/strong> also participated.
