Friday 21 June<\/strong> <\/span>the International Folk Festival will stop San Giovanni d’Antro<\/strong><\/span> (Pulfero) at the Grotta d’Antro<\/strong> with the Scottish group Baile<\/strong> (8.30 pm) and at the United World College of the Adriatic<\/strong> in Duino<\/strong><\/span> with the Ajde Zora<\/strong> (9.15 pm).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

BAILE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Baile<\/strong> is a young Scottish band from the\u00a0Glasgow<\/strong>\u00a0area that has focused its musical project on the sound of\u00a0Scottish border pipes\u00a0<\/strong>and flutes in a continuous dialogue with the rhythm section represented by\u00a0guitar<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0bodhran<\/strong>, which move in a very free and modern way .<\/p>\n

After having impressed everyone in 2017 at the\u00a0Celtic Connections Festival Club<\/strong><\/em>, their first EP was published by\u00a0Claytara Records<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and followed some tours in\u00a0Scotland, Holland,\u00a0Italy<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Switzerland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

SAN GIOVANNI D’ANTRO<\/strong><\/p>\n

By the name of San Giovanni d\u2019Antro, a\u00a0church<\/strong>\u00a0and a\u00a0cave<\/strong>\u00a0can be identified. The church was built inside the cave and both the attractions are located in\u00a0Pulfero,<\/strong>\u00a0in the province of Udine. The cave opens into the\u00a0Mladesiena mountain\u2019s face.<\/strong>\u00a0While entering the cave, two porches can be identifiend: one is bound to drain the water coming from the inner part of the cave, while the second one was built to facilitate the construction of a gallery that leads to the worship area, located in the upper part of the vaults. Remains of jupper jaws, tooth, vertebrae, pieces of pottery belonging to the\u00a0pre-romanic and romanic ages<\/strong>\u00a0and mettallic pieces belonging to the\u00a0Medieval Age<\/strong>\u00a0were found inside the cave. The place of worship is composed by a church, a chapel, a presbytery, a sacristy and a loggia.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

AJDE ZORA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ajde Zora<\/strong> is a band composed by Milica Polignano (vocals), Giulio Gavardi (guitar, saz, soprano sax and alto sax), Micol Tosatti (violin), Francesco Mattarello (accordion), Giorgio Marinaro (electric bass), and Francesco Prearo (drums and percussion).<\/p>\n

They are a musical caravan to explore the\u00a0Balkans<\/strong>, through frantic dances and poignant ballads of the gypsy populations who have lived there for centuries; they are\u00a0six musicians<\/strong>\u00a0with the Serbian singer\u00a0Milica Polignano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With her comes the idea of \u200b\u200bextending the traditional Balkan repertoire alongside fluctuating and melancholy pieces of Eastern European\u00a0Romany tradition<\/strong>\u00a0and rearranging\u00a0traditional music\u00a0<\/strong>in which the energy and passion of popular music is released between\u00a0frantic dances<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0poignant ballads<\/strong>of people from troubled past.<\/p>\n

They had the pleasure of collaborating with\u00a0Erhan Veliov<\/strong>, trumpeter of the legendary Original Kocani Orkestar by Naat Veliov.<\/p>\n

DUINO AURISINA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Duino is a place that is part of the municipality of Duino-Aurisina; it is located on the road that links\u00a0Trieste<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0Monfalcone,<\/strong>\u00a0on the edge of a panoramic riviera, it boasts the presence of two castles and vestiges of settlements as early as the late\u00a0Copper Age<\/strong>, an age from which the area results always inhabited. It is the northernmost town on the Mediterranean coast. The small historical center around the castle and point of arrival of the\u00a0Rilke path<\/strong>, has a semicircular structure, crossed by alleys and by a main street called\u00a0\u201culca\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(which stands for \u201cvia\u201d in Slovenian). In ancient times, the center was protected by walls that are still partly visible; here we can find the\u00a0Church of the Holy Spirit<\/strong>\u00a0of 1591, located near the walls of the castle which was once part of the monastery of the\u00a0Servites.<\/strong>\u00a0In Duino there is theUnited World College of the Adriatic<\/strong>, one of the United World Colleges, founded in 1982, which hosts students from all over the world.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
