Thursday 27 June<\/strong><\/span> the International Folk Festival will stop in Cassacco and Papariano (Fiumicello Villa Vicentina), for three events: the Two Time Polka<\/strong> sextet in Cassacco<\/span><\/strong> at the Parco d\u2019Europa<\/strong>\u00a0at 9.15 pm, the project Capitano tutte a noi<\/strong> and the Drakula Twins<\/strong> duo at 9.15 pm, both at the school garden in Via Nazionale<\/strong> in Papariano<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

TWO TIME POLKA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Two Time Polka<\/strong> sextet is an explosive mixture of\u00a0cajun, bluegrass, rock\u2019n\u2019roll<\/strong>\u00a0and songs with a strong\u00a0social commitment<\/strong>: with five albums, Two Time Polka have repeatedly climbed the Irish radio charts and won the\u00a0Best Musical Act<\/strong><\/em>, voted unanimously from Irish festival organizers.<\/p>\n

A sextet of great musical quality, where\u00a0Ray Barron\u2019s maddening mandolin\u00a0<\/strong>stands out, for an evening of great entertainment for the public.<\/p>\n

The group consists of Ray Barron (mandolin, violin, vocals), Geraldine Barron (accordion), Aaron Barron (acoustic guitar, vocals), Joe Boyd (bass), Paul Bradlay (electric guitar), and John Denmore (drums).<\/p>\n

The Two Time Polka after Cassacco, will perform for Folkest 2019 also in Flaibano at the Piazza Monumento, on Saturday 29 June at 9.15 pm, and in Aquileia at the Piazza Capitolo, on Sunday 30 June again at 9.15 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CASSACCO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both the geografic and orografic placement of Cassacco were decisive factors in the settling of ancient inhabitants. The\u00a0roman Via Julia<\/strong>\u00a0one of\u00a0the most important liesons between the Adriatic and the central Danube area,<\/strong>\u00a0was fairly close. The\u00a0Cassacco Castel<\/strong>\u00a0was was a fort, a key piece of the defensive system of the vale that was never besieged nor destroyed thoughout its history. Some of its main features are the two mighty towers connected by a lower building; the place is reached via a evocative hillside path that ends near the\u00a0Chiesa dell\u2019Assunta<\/strong>, outside of the castle walls.\u00a0Villa Gallici Deciani<\/strong>\u00a0is also worth mentioning, built inbetween the XVII and the XVIII century. It is a manor house, with a great staircase and balaustrade, guestrooms, a small tower and a chapel, a small colannade and some labourer\u2019s cottages. After the 1976 earthquake productive and commercial enterprises were etablished, also through the re-purposing of industrial structures.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DRAKULA TWINS<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the seventies, the\u00a0Drakula Twins\u00a0<\/strong>group, coming from\u00a0Budapest<\/strong>, literally revolutionized the way of understanding\u00a0traditional Hungarian music<\/strong>, mixing elements of tradition with very modern cues, while continuing to use only acoustic instruments.<\/p>\n

While the group\u2019s life continued, the various members had various other experiences:\u00a0J\u00e1nos Hasur<\/strong>, eclectic violinist, was for years in\u00a0Moni Ovadia\u2019s Teather Orchestar<\/strong>, while\u00a0Mih\u00e1ly Husz\u00e1r\u00a0<\/strong>ended up playing bass and double bass and touring Europe with\u00a0Angelo Branduardi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now, with the intention of telling us about it and letting us hear all sorts of things, these two old cronies have got together for a duet with an infinite class and a stellar technical rate.<\/p>\n

CAPITANO TUTTE A NOI<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSinging and playing together make you feel good: music has shown us to be a formidable stimulus to help overcome barriers, not only of prejudice but also of common thinking\u201d<\/em>. This is how\u00a0Capitano tutte a noi <\/strong>present themselves, a musical formation founded in\u00a02013<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0Pordenone<\/strong>\u00a0within a project of the\u00a0Itaca Social Cooperative<\/strong>, and currently made up of six members. The main vocation of the group is that of\u00a0welcoming<\/strong>, music becomes not only a vehicle for artistic expression, but also an instrument for individual growth, a place of confrontation in which to experience the knowledge of the other, without prejudice.<\/p>\n

A characteristic of the\u00a0Capitano tutte a noi<\/strong>\u00a0is to be a project that is constantly open to other members, even if only to share a musical experience of listening to each other, in which the group, as well as music, becomes a family. The aim of the project \u201cis to\u00a0overcome the taboos<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u2013 the musicians explain \u2013\u00a0to integrate into the group people without prejudice and open to confrontation, with different stories and approaches to music in order to enrich the sound and life of the band itself\u201d<\/em>. Music is a possibility of redemption aimed at a viable future: there are those who would like to make music their work and, if\u00a0all happen to us<\/strong>, it could happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also like to deal with the revaluation of songs, performers or bands that are not very well known by today\u2019s young people, and that instead left an imprint on the history of music\u201d<\/em>.\u00a0<\/i>But the\u00a0Capitano tutte a noi<\/strong>\u00a0also sign their own pieces, in which they give voice to the joys, fears and feelings of every day. \u201cThe songs we are writing will be a sort of biography that will tell people about us and will make us feel, after all\u00a0music is a common good of all and has no prejudice against anyone<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>.<\/i><\/p>\n

\nValentina Ius<\/b>\u00a0(vocals), grown between wave, dark and Duran Duran, she is the intense and biting front woman;
\nFelice Bellucci<\/b>\u00a0(vocals), a cavernous timbre that inevitably recalls the torments of Nick Cave or Johnny Cash, is the counterpart of Valentina;
\nBeniamino De Piccoli\u00a0<\/b>(guitar), versatile and imaginative guitarist, between soft finger picking and acrobatic virtuosity;
\nRoman Taran<\/b>\u00a0(drums), the youngest of the group, rhythmic column of the band;
\nPaolo Paron<\/b>\u00a0(keyboards, accordion, harmonica), starting from blues, he loves to mix modernity and vintage sounds;
\nGianmarco Toneguzzo<\/b>\u00a0(vocals, bass), the deep voice of the English post-punk reached us.<\/p>\n

PAPARIANO (FIUMICELLO VILLA VICENTINA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fraction of the municipality of Fiumicello Villa Vicentina, recognized his identity when in 1937 the first stone of the church dedicated to\u00a0Maria S.S. Regina<\/strong>\u00a0was blessed. The building, simple and collected, was built for the tenacity of two priests, with the money and work of the entire community of Papariano, in which, after the suppression of the small family church of\u00a0Andriani,<\/strong>\u00a0commissioned by Giuseppe II, there were no places of worship. Fiumicello, born as an agricultural village of the prosperous\u00a0Roman colony of Aquileia<\/strong>, owes his name to the Latin word\u00a0flumen\u00a0and mentioned for the first time (Fiumis\u00e8l) in an act of 1174. His history is intimately linked to that of Aquileia: with it it suffers the devastating invasions of the\u00a0Huns,<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Visigoths,<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Ostrogoths,<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Avars<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Longobards;<\/strong>\u00a0with this, Papariano sees the advent of\u00a0Christianity<\/strong>\u00a0and the establishment of patriarchal power.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
