Friday 28 June<\/strong> <\/span>will be the turn of three groups from three different nations: the Irish Sonas<\/strong> in Cercivento<\/strong><\/span> at Cjase da Int<\/strong> (at 9.15 pm), the Italian Maxmaber Orkestar<\/strong> in Fiume Veneto<\/strong><\/span> at Piazza P. Bagellardo<\/strong> (at 9.15 pm), and the Italian-Colombians Mestis\u00f2n<\/strong> in Tricesimo<\/strong><\/span> in Piazza Ellero<\/strong> (at 9.15 pm).<\/p>\n

SONAS<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Cercivento the Irish Sonas<\/strong> will perform, a group formed by some of the most interesting young Ulster <\/strong>talents, winners of various competitions and of an\u00a0All Ireland Young Championship<\/em><\/strong>. Some of them come from families that have given great interpreters to the Irish music.<\/p>\n

Following the path of great bands like\u00a0Altan <\/strong>or\u00a0North Cregg<\/strong>, they have in the strength of their overall sound the most relevant characteristic. They boast a repertoire composed of sweet ballads led by the beautiful voice of\u00a0Terry<\/strong>\u00a0and wild dances where the sounds of reed instruments and wind instruments intertwine.<\/p>\n

CERCIVENTO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cercivento rises at the confluence of\u00a0Valcalda<\/strong>\u00a0with the\u00a0But Valley<\/strong>. It is divided into the inhabited areas of\u00a0Cercivento di Sotto<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Cercivento di Sopra<\/strong>\u00a0and in the towns of\u00a0Vidal, Cjandelin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Costa.<\/strong>\u00a0It was a Longobard presidium and the site of a \u201dparish church\u201d. Between the end of the sixteenth and the eighteenth century Cercivento knew perhaps the most flourishing moment of his history: in this period the most beautiful houses were born, including the\u00a0Citars, Tiridin, Morassi, Vezzi<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Pitt<\/strong>\u00a0houses. However, economic growth arrested, at least momentarily, in 1692 \u2013 the so-called\u00a0year of the flood<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 when a huge landslide buried the village of\u00a0Centa,<\/strong>\u00a0which stood behind today\u2019s cemetery. In the eighteenth century the current parish was built. In 1966, due to numerous and violent rains, the\u00a0Farie di Checo<\/strong>, the forge manufacturing symbol of the country, ceased his activity. Although damaged by the earthquake of 1976, the country with the reconstruction has preserved the typical features of the splendid historic houses that, together with the thematic artistic project\u00a0Cercivento\u2026 an Open-air Bible<\/strong>, are a source of interest for a nascent cultural-religious tourism. Secular traditions are preserved, such as the blessing of flowers at\u00a0St. John<\/strong>\u00a0or the\u00a0singing of the Cantors<\/strong>\u00a0on December 31st. Finally the enchanting landscape of the valley floor and of\u00a0Mount Tenchia<\/strong>, where located the celebrated\u00a0Pian delle Streghe.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

MAXMABER ORKESTAR<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Maxmaber Orkestar<\/strong> was formed in 2003 in\u00a0Trieste<\/strong>, the Austro-Hungarian port where Mitteleuropa meets the Mediterranean, a natural passage between Eastern and Western Europe.<\/p>\n

They left immediately for a journey through the\u00a0popular traditions of Eastern Europe and of the Mediterranean<\/strong>: klezmer, old Italian and Yugoslav songs, waltzes and mazurkas, Roma music, Bosnian sevdalinke, dances from Serbia and Macedonia intertwined in a cheerful and melancholic sound at the same time. From all these experiences, several original pieces were born, sung in the\u00a0Triestine dialect<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

FIUME VENETO<\/strong><\/p>\n

The municipality is bathed by two main streams: the\u00a0Fiume<\/strong>\u00a0river, from which the municipality takes its name, which laps\u00a0Pescincanna,<\/strong>\u00a0crosses the chief town and touches\u00a0Cimpello,<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Sile<\/strong>\u00a0river, which flows along the south-eastern strip of the territory touching\u00a0Bannia<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Praturlone.<\/strong>\u00a0Both are born a few kilometers further upstream, coming from the same resurgence area; furthermore, Fiume is rich of such phenomena, as evidenced by the toponym\u00a0via Sacconi<\/strong>, derived from the term \u201cbag\u201d which stands for \u201cstagnant water\u201d. The toponym is documented for the first time in 996, but the first certain records date back to 1182, when Pope Lucius III recognized it as belonging to the abbot of\u00a0Sesto al Reghena<\/strong>. In the subsequent writings is revealed the existence of two distinct centres:\u00a0\u201cFlumen intra acquae\u201d\u00a0or\u00a0\u201cFiume Grande\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0or, again,\u00a0\u201cFiume dei Servi\u201d<\/strong>, fiefdom of the abbey of Sesto; and\u00a0\u201cFlumen extra acquae\u201d\u00a0or\u00a0\u201cFiume Piccolo\u201d<\/strong>, administered by the cesarean captain of Pordenone on behalf of the\u00a0House of Austria.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

MESTIS\u00d2N<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mestis\u00f2n<\/strong> are an explosive mixture of rhythms, songs, dances and ethnicities where\u00a0traditional drums<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0minor percussions<\/strong>\u00a0blend wisely with more modern instruments such as\u00a0bass,\u00a0sax<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0clarinet<\/strong>, giving life to rhythms such as cumbia, s\u00f2n corrido, mapal\u00e9, s\u00f2n palenquero, bullerengue and many others.<\/p>\n

They offer\u00a0characteristic songs from the Colombian Caribbean coast<\/strong>, rearranged in a modern key and with\u00a0reggae and funky<\/strong>\u00a0influences, using the\u00a0Spanish and indigenous language of San Basilio de Palenque.<\/strong><\/p>\n

TRICESIMO<\/strong><\/p>\n

The name of Tricesimo is of\u00a0Roman origin<\/strong>:\u00a0\u201cad tricesimum lapidem\u201d\u00a0means\u00a0\u201cto the thirtieth milestone from the port of Aquileia\u201d<\/strong>: it is located on the road that led from\u00a0Aquileia<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0Julium Carnicum,\u00a0today\u00a0Zuglio,<\/strong>\u00a0and to the\u00a0Norico.<\/strong>\u00a0The presence of centres of\u00a0Celtic origin <\/strong>before and during the Roman domination are represented by the toponym\u00a0\u201cBorgobello\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0in Friulian\u00a0Borgobel\u00a0or\u00a0Marcubel,\u00a0the hill that overlooks the center of Tricesimo, anciently seat of a place of worship dedicated to the\u00a0god Beleno.<\/strong>\u00a0The strategic position, at the intersection between the road that leads to Norico and the bariglaria road, coming from\u00a0Gradisca d\u2019Isonzo<\/strong>, has favored over the centuries the influx of population, trade and commerce, making Tricesimoone of the most important administrative and religious centers of the hilly Friuli.<\/strong>\u00a0The parish church, built in the XVIII century based on a project by\u00a0Domenico Schiavi<\/strong>\u00a0and dedicated to the\u00a0Madonna della Purificazione,<\/strong>\u00a0stands in the center of the town, opposite to the town hall and to the square, and has, in the south side, a very elegant Renaissance door, by\u00a0Bernardino from Bissone<\/strong>. Inside there are various works of art by\u00a0Jacopo Palma \u201cil Giovane\u201d<\/strong>, and an altarpiece by\u00a0Sebastiano Bombelli.<\/strong>\u00a0The church was also named after an organ by the famous organist\u00a0Pietro Nacchini,<\/strong>\u00a0sold in the 1930s to the parish church of\u00a0Madrisio di Fagagna,<\/strong>\u00a0where it still stands today.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
