The last two events of the month of June<\/span><\/strong> will be held in Aquileia and in San Giorgio della Richinvelda.<\/p>\n

TWO TIME POLKA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first group, Two Time Polka<\/strong>, will perform on 30 June<\/strong><\/span> in Aquileia<\/strong><\/span> at the Piazza Capitolo<\/strong> at 9.15 pm. An explosive mixture of\u00a0cajun, bluegrass, rock\u2019n\u2019roll<\/strong>\u00a0and songs with a strong\u00a0social commitment<\/strong>: with five albums, Two Time Polka have repeatedly climbed the Irish radio charts and won the\u00a0Best Musical Act<\/em><\/strong>, voted unanimously from Irish festival organizers.<\/p>\n

A sextet of great musical quality, where\u00a0Ray Barron\u2019s maddening mandolin<\/strong>\u00a0stands out, for an evening of great entertainment for the public.<\/p>\n

AQUILEIA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roman colony<\/strong>\u00a0founded in 181 aC, was the capital of the X Augustan region and metropolis of the Christian church. Together with Ravenna and Brescia it is\u00a0the most important archaeological site in northern Italy<\/strong>, and with Cividale del Friuli and Udine it has been one of the historical capitals of Friuli, whose iconic image derives from the emblem of Aquileia.The village developed around the\u00a0patriarchal basilica<\/strong>\u00a0for a radius of about a kilometer, including the remains of the ancient Roman city, and crossed by the river Natissa. The southern part of the municipal territory, behind the Grado lagoon, is instead constituted by cultivated territory (deriving from reclamation) or small patches of plain woodland. The hamlet of Belvedere, facing the lagoon, hosts two typical examples of pine woods.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

SONAS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second appointment will see the Irish Sonas<\/strong> in San Giorgio della Richinvelda <\/strong><\/span>at the garden of the Civic Library<\/strong> at 9.15 pm, always on 30 June<\/strong><\/span>. A Northern Ireland\u00a0<\/strong>group, formed by some of the most interesting young\u00a0Ulster <\/strong>talents, winners of various competitions and of an\u00a0All Ireland Young Championship<\/strong><\/em>. Some of them come from families that have given great interpreters to the Irish music.<\/p>\n

Following the path of great bands like\u00a0Altan <\/strong>or\u00a0North Cregg<\/strong>, they have in the strength of their overall sound the most relevant characteristic. They boast a repertoire composed of sweet ballads led by the beautiful voice of\u00a0Terry<\/strong>\u00a0and wild dances where the sounds of reed instruments and wind instruments intertwine.<\/p>\n

SAN GIORGIO DELLA RICHINVELDA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The perimeter of the municipality is drawn to the east by the\u00a0Tagliamento river<\/strong>\u00a0and by the\u00a0Meduna river<\/strong>\u00a0to the west: thus, it is a natural and uncontaminated territory, rich in protected flora and fauna. The Municipality hosts one of the most important sacred places in Friuli, the\u00a0\u201cRichinvelda\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0where the greatest among the\u00a0Patriarchs of Aquileia, Bertrando of Saint Geni\u00e8s<\/strong>, was assassinated. Along the road that leads from Spilimbergo to Zoppola, between the towns of San Giorgio della Richinvelda and Rauscedo, stands the small church of\u00a0San Nicol\u00f2<\/strong>\u00a0where the patriarch of Aquileia Bertrando died on 6 June 1350. The little church preserves an altar of Pilacorte and in the immediate sorroundings, in the exact place where he was assassinated, there is a memorial stone erected in memory of the event, visible near the church. Rauscedo is a fraction of the municipality and is known for the production of\u00a0\u201cbarbatelle\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(small graft vines). In the hamlet of\u00a0Pozzo<\/strong>\u00a0there is the\u00a0museum of the rural civilization<\/strong>, with a collection of instruments of the past, typical of the rural community.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
