In 2025 Le Orme celebrated their 60th year of activity. The beginning was absolutely crackling: on March 22, 2025, in front of two thousand people, at the Gran Teatro Geox in Padua, they bring on stage for the first time the rock opera Le Orme plays Venice: almost three hours of concert with over thirty musicians on stage to relive the musical history of Venice from the 1700s to the present. All the music born in Venice by Venetian composers: from Vivaldi and Albinoni via Pino Donaggio, Bocelli’s great hits written by Venetian Francesco Sartori, Le Orme’s historic songs, the incursion of Rondò Veneziano, tenor Luca Minnelli’s crossover, and the grand finale with a tribute to Pink Floyd, celebrating the historic July 15, 1989 concert in Venice. A double live disc and a DVD have been made from the Padua concert and will be distributed worldwide.
The show that Le Orme brings to the stage is a tribute to their musical history that began in 1965 and retraces their artistic journey by offering their most significant songs that brought the Orme to the top of the charts in the 1971/1973 period such as Gioco di bimba, Collage, Sguardo verso il cielo, Amico di ieri, Cemento armato, Canzone d’amore.
There will be no shortage of tributes to the great Italian artists who have left an indelible mark on the history of Italian music: songs by Battiato, Battisti, De Andrè, Nomadi, PFM, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso and New Trolls will be featured during the concert. The only foreign note is a tribute to Pink Floyd, celebrating the concert the British band held on July 15, 1989, in the San Marco Basin in Venice.
It will be, as the title of the show says, a journey together… A concert to be listened to in one breath and which, where possible, will be enriched by some film clips and videos, including vintage ones.
