HRAYBERY

Poland

The group’s intent is to revitalize a repertoire customary in the Polish-Ukrainian border area of Galicia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, where Ruthenians, Ukrainians, Poles, Jews, Roma nomads, and merchants of the most diverse nationalities mingled in a mixture of dialects, languages, and music, where the basis of the line-up was the German psaltery, violin, bass, and percussion. Born in 2023, they began performing in small and large arenas, folk festivals as well as concerts, in Poland and abroad, quickly gaining a great reputation and even winning the Polish Radio Award.
