LaPeka

Peka is a collective born in Trieste in January 2023, formed by musicians who are very heterogeneous in terms of training and artistic experience. The intent of the collective is to propose its own artistic vision, breaking out of the logic and restrictions that define a musical genre.

The repertoire of original songs proposed by the group is characterized by a varied Afro-Latin rhythmic matrix, on which rest melodies inspired by popular music and jazz improvisations. The show is a musical journey that takes us from West Africa to South and Central America, drawing inspiration from traditional Colombian caribe music, Jamaican and Cuban music, with contaminations and influences from North American jazz, funk and New York salsa.
