Matching Ties is a folk group dedicated to Irish, English and Scottish music from both sides of the Atlantic with members from Ireland, the United States, England and Germany, based in southeastern Germany. Their name and the matching ties they wear on stage symbolize the bond between these musicians of different nationalities, united in their international Irish, Scottish, English and Celtic-American repertoire. Since 1986 they have exceeded three thousand performances in every kind of situation for music and folk imaginable, in Europe and the United States. The Matching Ties have released five CDs and one DVD. With just the right mix of their top-notch performance, witty storytelling, black humor, and spontaneous skits, they strike the right balance between conveying the beauty and complexity of their music while maintaining a touch of fun.
