From rebetiko to the music of the islands. Kaixi is the name the ancient greek and turkish seafarers gave to their fishing boats, thus the name of the band. The frontman Christos Petevis, born in Athens but of cypriot origin, has a very oriental style of violin playing that is a perfect match to the guitar skills of Apostolis Kounis, from Thessaly. The accordion player Kostas Mbartsokas is from Central Greece, and he then specialised in cypriot music. A trio of fine musicians, that lets their audience explore the various faces of modern greek music thanks to the various styles they were influenced by.

Members: Christos Petevis – violin; Apostolis Kounis – oud, guitar, vocals; Kosta Mbartsokas – accordion, vocals.
