The Albanian word “valëzâ” has multiple meanings, such as little wave or little wave of the voice, but also intensity of voice. Linda Rukaj’s show Valëzâ finds its roots in the little explored treasure of ancient Albanian songs. From her Southern Balkan country, which is an authentic bridge between Europe and the East, these rhythms and melodies wave to her original compositions, step by step and note after note, touching other Mediterranean shores along the journey, until reaching the edges of French song.
