The integration of the cultural and artistic proposal, aimed at cultural tourism, has always been the flagship of Folkest. It is a project of involvement of the regional medium-small municipalities that collaborate through sustainable economic development for the promotion of lesser known territories and communities in Friuli Venezia Giulia region and abroad.

A great return to the beautiful setting of San Daniele where it all began under the name of “Fieste di Chenti” back in 1979. From 13th June to 7th July San Daniele will boast numerous activities such as live concerts, showcases, master classes and sensory workshops.

Folkest festival features a rich program of events and gigs held throughout the year, and it also includes two European projects: UpBeat- the European Showcase Platform, dedicated to emerging artists, and the European Folk Network which will be followed by Alberto Cesa Prize and Folkest Career Prize 2023.

For twenty editions now, the Alberto Cesa Prize has been aimed at musical projects that know how to enhance world music and cultures. After a selection process throughout Italy, the six finalists were selected and will perform on 7th July 2024 in San Daniele del Friuli.
A 46-year journey which has enlivened Friulian summer -but not only- since 1979. A festival that is articulated in four countries where several ethnic groups have lived together for centuries. Its aim is to give a voice to the diverse communities of the world thanks to substantial enhancement of all forms of expression to reinforce cultural exchanges and intercultural dialogue. Culture is the catalyst able to bring people together by overcoming social and political barriers in order to build an inclusive society based on the respect for diversity.
